Naked You Die / Nude... si muore (1968)

While not living up to the lurid delights promised within the title Antonio Margheriti's Schoolgirl Killer certainly deserves some credit. While it is the case that the film delivers none of the sleaze of Andrea Bianchi's Strip Nude For Your Killer the sweet, romantic, charming and sometimes funny sub plots feed the clues in a way which makes the whole experience credible in ways some of the later genre efforts were not.

Since this is an early example of the giallo sub genre the film does stick more closely to the what we considered the rules with an unseen and occasionally gloved killer.

Even if all this may seem a little generic the setting of a boarding school full of rich girls and the employment of a slightly weird entomologist puts one in mind of Dario Argento's work including Phenomena.

This is a middling giallo and is possibly one for collectors rather than as an ideal starting point with the genre.
