Nightmare City / Incubo sulla città contaminata (1980)

2.5 out of 5

Starring Mexican hairy heartthrob Hugo Stiglitz Nightmare City is multi genre director Umberto Lenzi's attempt at the wave of zombie films that were popular in the early 1980s. It is a pretty crazy genre entry too.

Lenzi's zombies, which are more like prune headed vampires, are hectic, drive vehicles, run about chasing people and use weapons.

This movie can not by any stretch of the imagination be considered a classic of the genre but do not let that discourage you because it is nevertheless exceptionally good fun.

The ending however is a bit of a cop out.
