Five for Hell / 5 per l'inferno (1969)

3.5 out of 5

If this movie was to be compared to an animal then it should be compared to a puppy. Five for Hell is enthusiastic, bouncy, full of fun and ever so eager to please.

Five for Hell is a war film of the men on a mission, boys own type. It also features a weighted baseball as a weapon and an army issue trampoline.

Starring Gianni Garko and Klaus Kinski, with a supporting role for prolific character actor Luciano Rossi, this is the war film that makes Castellari's madcap Inglorious Bastards seem as earnest and dry as War And Peace. Good fun start to finish.
