Tenebrae / Tenebre (1982)

5.0 out of 5

Set in an imagined near future and with an occasional retro-futurist look Dario Argento's giallo Tenebrae is an incredibly beautiful symphony of violence.

Uncompromising, Tenebrae was one of the 72 titles banned in Britain as a video nasty.

This film is an essential for fans of Italian thrillers and despite coming at the tail end of the giallo wave, which may well have appeared to have jumped the shark some years earlier, it is one of the finest examples of the genre.
