Escape from the Bronx / Fuga dal Bronx (1983)

2.5 out of 5

Escape From The Bronx is the sequel to Bronx Warriors. Mark Gregory returns as Trash and this time seems far more comfortable in front of the camera. Again Enzo casts his brother Ennio Girolami but despite this being a sequel the pedantic may notice how he is cast in a completely different role.

More of a dystopian futuristic film than Bronx Warriors this sequel is far more fun than the original.

While Henry Silva is terribly underused Castellari does cast a regular in Giancarlo Prete which is one of a number of similarities with New Barbarians. Another similarity being the casting of child actor Alessandro Prete in an "expert" role not unlike that played by Giovanni Frezza who plants bombs and spouts catchphrases in the manner of James Coburn in A Fistful of Dynamite.

Not too shabby.
