These minor criticisms aside this ocular trauma themed film should appeal to those who enjoy far more traditional and conventional giallo fare as it is replete with a gloved, knife wielding killer and red herrings aplenty.

A wonderful soundtrack provided by Bruno Nicolai may well seem a little familiar but it is perfect for the genre and is not a million miles from the opening music provided for The Case Of The Bloody Iris.

Genre fans should enjoy this Don't Look Now referencing film and it could also prove to be reasonable entry point for those coming to giallo for the first time. Neophytes should however note that while this is not the most remarkable of this filone it offers all the conventions that would be extremely familiar to ardent fans and as such could act as a foretaste of the other delights on offer.
