House Of The Yellow Carpet, The / La casa del tappeto giallo (1983)

3.5 out of 5

The House Of Yellow Carpet is an incredibly inventive claustrophobic house invasion thriller that has many twists and turns. The story action is largely confined to a single house and it at times has the feeling of a stage play. In fact the film is actually adapted from a play by Aldo Seller.

Central to the story is a the sale of a yellow carpet and a menacing customer.

Despite the small cast and limited use of location the film is an incredible thriller with a stand out scene stealing performance from Swedish actor and Ingmar Bergman regular Erland Josephson. Directed by Carlo Lizzani.
