Nada Gang, The / Nada (1974)

5.0 out of 5

A French and Italian co-production directed by Claude Chabrol. The Nada Gang are a group of idealist revolutionary and anarchist terrorists who kidnap the American ambassador in what could be best described as propagande par le fait.

Europe has a fine tradition of political thriller with Nada keeping great company with films such as I... comme Icare, Z and Ogro.

There is a certain ambivalence about Nada and and in a film world without heroes the wrongheaded and nihilistic terrorists are portrayed as the mirror of a state that tortures and can equally resort to violence for political ends.

Fans of Italian cult film will no doubt enjoy a brilliant performance from Lou Castel and Fabio Testi also stars.
