Absurd / Rosso Sangue (1981)

3.5 out of 5

Joe D'Amato's Absurd is an effectively suspenseful and creepy slasher, which stars frequent D'Amato collaborator George Eastman as a seemingly unstoppable killer with superhuman healing abilities. While the film doesn't follow a particular narrative and mostly consists of George Eastman laying waste to whoever crosses his path, it does make up for it with a decent amount of atmosphere and violence, and it's also surprisingly similar in many ways to John Carpenter's Halloween. Recommended for gore-hounds and slasher enthusiasts.
