Seven Blood-Stained Orchids / Sette orchidee macchiate di rosso (1972)

4.0 out of 5

Directed by Umberto Lenzi, Seven Blood-Stained Orchids is a nearly-perfect Giallo that delivers almost everything you could want from a film such as this. Antonio Sabato plays the citizen-turned-investigator role very well, and he's complimented nicely by the lovely Uschi Glass in the damsel in distress role as they work with the police to hunt down a vicious killer. Seven Blood-Stained Orchids is well-crafted and features a nice pace that moves the story along briskly, bringing a whole lot of killer and not much filler to the table. The film also features some icing on the cake in the form of a beautiful female cast, most notably Austrian bombshell Marissa Mell in a small role. Highly recommended, Seven Blood-Stained Orchids is an essential Giallo.
