Canterbury Tales / I racconti di Canterbury (1972)

4.0 out of 5

The second installment of the ”trilogy of life” see’s Pasolini tackle Chaucer’s classic Canterbury Tales in his customary approach of sex and cynical comedy as the church get’s a kick in the bollocks as Pasolini shows the contradictive clergy at work.

Laugh out loud moments here include seeing guy getting a red hot poker up his backside, old Doctor Who Tom Baker getting not only a hand job from Jenny Runacre but also getting snared up in her paranoid theories that he’s out to lay his hands on her fortune and the ultimate critique against the church when the devil himself shits out clergymen.

Canterbury Tales is a definite must see Pasolini movie and amongst one of his most surreal moments.
