Bloody Payroll / Milano violenta (1976)

2.0 out of 5

Formula poliziottescho, and on the boring side. Aside from a few forgiving nods to film composer Gianfranco Plenizo's Herbie Hancock-style piano riffings, and an enjoyable scene of hostage-abusing bank robber John Steiner's making a face-plant into a truck while out motorcycling, this isn't worth checking out. The movie literally ends with a gasp, and the casting is disappointing for the bad guys, excepting the always welcome Vittorio Mezzogiorno. A disappointment from director Mario Caiano, who would later fashion the much more virile Napoli Spara.
