Lola's Secret / Il peccato di Lola (1985)

2.5 out of 5

Lola's Secret is a skippable later sex thriller cum giallo that starts pretty much in the territory of a coming of age tale but turns into a murder and blackmail story with a number of twists, some, but not all, clearly signposted.

A saxophone jazz score, reminiscent of The Devil's Honey, is painfully eighties and at one point of building tension threatens to break into Vienna by Ultravox.

Pneumatic Donatella Damiani appears in various states of undress as a predatory hypersexual housekeeper with plot relevant heart problems, Black Emanuelle squeeze Gabriele Tinti is a chauffeur and American actor Scott Coffey gets to play a sort of Ben Braddock role to his accommodating yet slightly chunky succubus of a Mrs Robinson.

Very much in the mould of many a made-for-late-night-television erotic thriller the softcore Lola's Secret is a remake of Sylvia Kristel comedy Private Lessons.

Rabid Dogs star Maurice Poli appears briefly.
