Hands of Steel / Vendetta dal futuro (1986)

Assassin Cyborg Paco Querak, Daniel Greene, has a sudden moment of remorse and walks away from what will become his last hit. In the wake of his failed assassination, bounty hunters are sent out to terminate him. This forces him into hiding at Linda’s, Janet Agren, desolate truck stop in the middle of nowhere. Here he becomes friends with a bunch of tuckers and starts competing in arm wrestling contests… but pretty soon the bounty hunters start to close in and Paco has to fight once again.

With an Elisia Briganti, Dardano Sacchetti and Ernesto Gastaldi script, director Sergio Martino delivers an enjoyable action flick with Hands of Steel as it’s a movie which still stands the test of time. It’s still fun, it’s still fast and it still has some great fight scenes. Such as Paco taking on a female assassin droid in a weird martial arts rumble inside the cramped truck stop, and John Saxon walking in and out of scenes in the nonchalant way that only he can.

The movie would tragically become Claudio Cassinelli’s final movie as he died in a helicopter accident during production.
