Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, The / La notte che Evelyn uscì dalla tomba (1971)

4.0 out of 5

Impossibly funky with occasionally inspired and atmospheric visuals this trippy giallo from Emilio Miraglia occasionally, particularly in the first third, feels like a Jess Franco film.

A gothic thriller with supernatural undertones sees La notte che Evelyn uscì dalla tomba coloured with an incredibly rich palette of primary colours with striking reds, blues and yellow.

Those who have seen The Red Queen Kills 7 Times will have some idea of what to expect and this may well appeal to those who enjoyed Hatchet For The Honeymoon. Anthony Steffen stars alongside Marina Malfatti and Erika Blanc has a lesser but still significant role.

Excellent stuff.
