Sensuous Nurse, The / L'Infermiera (1975)

Come Play With Me Italian-style. The presence of two undeniable icons, Jack Palance and Ursula Andress, marginally elevate Nello Rossati's offering above the typical euro sex-comedy.

Although few watch films like this for the plot, it is more convoluted than most, featuring an ailing vintner and scheming relatives. The statuesque Ms Andress stars as a nurse certainly not hired to improve the health of her charge, and spends a good portion of the running time either falling out, or fallen out of her uniform.

Fans of bad movies will see a few familiar faces in the supporting cast, including Attilio Duse and Daniele Vargas, and bizarrely, Carlo Ponti is the Producer. Palance, whilst dreaming of past triumphs, does well to play reasonably straight, and the humour does occasionally rise above waist-level.

The dubious thrill of seeing not one but two naked Bond girls, Thunderball's Luciana Paluzzi also appears, somewhat outweigh the at-times leaden comedy and obvious performances.
