Top Sensation (1969)

Also known as The Seducers as a thriller the film does fail, spectacularly, to actually thrill, but at times can be quite good fun and certainly very sexy. Class based political points are made, especially in the notion that the poor are mere playthings of the rich and are, beyond this, disposable. It's all very trashy, deliciously so, but such are the larger-than-life characters and comical implausability of the situation that it is not a film that need be taken too seriously as the cast go at it like a humping cluster of rampant Bonobos who have recently supped deeply from a well of sildenafil citrate.

Edwige Fenech and Rosalba Neri get naked as an annoying, manipulative yet superficial group of wealthy socialites take advantage of a simpleton goat herder couple.

There are numerous similarities with Island of Death, including it's dark humour, and even, to a certain though lesser extent, Five Dolls For an August Moon.

The quirky Top Sensation was written and directed by Ottavio Alessi.
