Killers Are Challenged / A 077, sfida ai killers (1966)

3.5 out of 5

This spy film from Antonio Margheriti stars Richard Harrison as American agent Bob Fleming, a likely tribute to Ian Fleming, who is an obvious but curious emulation of the iconic spy hero James Bond. Harrison is no Sean Connery, but still gets the job done, impressively foiling hit men and melting the hearts of beautiful but deadly women, all the while maintaining a well kempt and dreamy look that is akin to a spy Ken doll with Judo chopping action.

As if to apologize for the lack of originality, Margheriti unleashes a good deal of witty humor in an overextended and comical barroom brawl that causes the movie to lose itself, but nonetheless leaves viewers satisfied and entertained after enduring it all.
