Submission of a Woman is a house invasion and rape-revenge movie that suffers primarily from the flat style that marked the post-golden-age period of Italian genre film. Nevertheless there is a level of tension through the feature albeit set against a confused and conflicting political stance where gender politics and the role of retaliatory vigilante justice are pondered before, surprisingly enough, a flashback suggests either that the victim has rape fantasies or, at the very least, Stockholm Syndrome.
No worse than any of the Houses of Doom made for television series, nor indeed any of the Lucio Fulci presentations, the film may be of interest to house invasion completists.
Daniela Poggi takes the role of victim turned hunter while Paolo Lorimer plays the stalking headcase in residence. The score seems to be heavily influenced by Twin Peaks.
