Devil's Wedding Night, The / Il plenilunio delle vergini (1973)

3.5 out of 5

Good fun this. The Devils Wedding Night is a vampire film that, via the magic of cliche, pushes all the right erotic Gothic horror buttons in the misty, cobwebby vampire home of the familiar and much utilized Balsorano Castle here in the guise of Castle Dracula, Transylvania.

If thematically not the most original there is nevertheless plenty to entertain fans of this kind of thing including bats, amulets, bucketloads of blood and virgin boobage.

At times it all feels a bit Hammer Horror, but with also with a firm Eurocult vampire sexiness and plenty of tripiness. There are twists too.

Stars of the feature are Mark Damon and Rosalba Neri while cinamatography comes courtesy of Joe D'amato. Innkeeper's daughter Enza Sbordone here takes a brief detour from Decamerotica.
