Engaging, honest documentary by Italy's best actress Giovanna Mezzogiorno about her late father, esteemed Italian actor Vittorio Mezzogiorno. Simple in its presentation and interviews, but not in its content.
Mezzogiorno is portrayed as the complex man that he was, and the movie also supplies interesting footage and information about his theater career, not that his poliziotteschi contributions like Violent Milano are overlooked, or such classics as his sandaled mechanic in Car Crash.
Not as many film clips as there could have been, but director Giovanna succeeds in keeping her father as enigmatic as a documentary can allow and obviously, the dude would have prefered the enigmatic treatment, with his actor ego. She also avoids making things too sentimental. The use of audio, especially at the end, is extremely effective.
