Black Veil for Lisa, A / La morte non ha sesso (1968)

As with the Schoolgirls in Peril movies of Massimo Dallamano his early giallo places a large amount of emphasis on the police investigation and casts Sir John Mills as a cuckolded head of narcotics for Interpol who engages a hit man, The Killer Must Kill Again style, to off his wife.

Immediately preceding Dallamano's fantastic Venus in Furs this noir-like character driven feature, which has more in common with Lenzi's psychological thrillers than the black gloved slasher style whodunnit that followed in the wake of Blood and Black Lace, is easily as good as any film Massimo directed.

Sadly far to often overlooked by casual fans of Italian giallo A Black Veil for Lisa is an essential slice of Eurocult. The film is a West German co-production and co-stars Robert Hoffmann and Thunderball's other Bond girl Luciana Paluzzi as a femme fatale.
